Dr. Robert Lanza is regarded by many, as one of the topmost scientists of our time, he has been able to publish hundreds of publications and have written more than 20 scientific books. Amongst these, is ‘Principles of Tissue Engineering’ considered a reference in the field of cells and tissue engineering. He is currently the chief officer (advanced cell technology) and also an adjunct professor at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine.
Dr. Robert Lanza is famous for cloning the first embryo the world has ever seen; he did this with the intention to generate embryonic stem cells. After that, he has made some successful clones; notable ones being the cloning of an endangered species which he did in 2001. Also in 2003, he was successful in cloning – from frozen skin cells of a dead animal – an endangered wild ox. In other words, he was able to resurrect an endangered species with the skin of a dead animal that had died almost 25 years earlier.
Along with his colleagues, Dr. Robert Lanza was able to carry out a demonstration to show that nuclear transplantation could be used as a reversal to the aging process and also to generate immune-compatible tissues which includes the first organ tissue contrived from the clone cells. Because of his popularity in the field of tissues, he has been granting interviews across the country to talk more about his findings. One of such interviews is the one he granted on Deepak Chopra Wellness Radio on August 15, 2009.
